- 12:00 PM5hEarly Release: Thursday, July 3 at NoonFaculty, Staff and Student Employees, With authorization from Chancellor Glenn Hegar, President Mark A. Welsh III has authorized the early release of employees at noon on Thursday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day.Classes will be held as scheduled on Thursday, July 3, the second day of the second summer term.Employees supporting or participating in classroom learning will be required to report as normally expected. Employees performing essential facility, health, safety and/or security-related functions will be required to report as normally expected. Employees supporting or participating in clinical operations or those unsure of reporting status should confirm with their supervisor prior to the early release date. Employees required to work during this early release time will be given state compensatory time off to take within the next 12 months, and/or may have their current work schedule adjusted appropriately by their department. Sick/vacation leave time previously authorized will be reinstated. Branch campuses and teaching sites may have alternate holiday schedules (https://www.tamus.edu/hr/holiday/) and should consult with their respective leadership or supervisor for related information. Bus service will run normal operations on Thursday, July 3; however, there will be no bus service Friday, July 4, through Sunday, July 6. Break service will resume Monday, July 7. Bus routes and schedules are available on the Transportation Services bus routes page (https://aggiespirit.ts.tamu.edu/RouteMap) and in the Texas A&M mobile app. For Aggie Dining (https://dineoncampus.com/tamu/) (College Station) and Sea Aggie Dining (https://dineoncampus.com/tamug) (Galveston), schedules remain unchanged unless otherwise posted. Libraries will maintain normal operating hours (Bryan-College Station, Galveston and McAllen). Please note that hours of operation for recreation centers at our campuses vary.
