Friday, November 21, 2025 7:00–8:00 PM
- LocationLiberal Arts and Arts & Humanities Building
- DescriptionThe Aggieland Percussion Group presents an evening of inventive percussion music featuring contemporary works for mallet keyboard ensembles and mixed percussion. This concert highlights a wide array of textures, rhythmic ideas and soundscapes that showcase the versatility and energy of modern percussion performance. We are honored to welcome guest artist and composer Dr. Christopher Butler (Southern Illinois University-Carbondale) for a special residency. The concert will feature the world premiere of his newest piece written for the ensemble. Butler's music often explores groove, color and subtle shifts in pulse, making it a compelling fit for this program. Additional works on the program include compositions by Clark Hubbard, Marc Mellits, Brian Nozny, John Psathas and Alex Stopa. Join us as we celebrate this exciting repertoire with a night of powerful performances and new artistic voices.
