- Feb 54:00 PMCareer Kickstart Collection: LinkedInThis LinkedIn workshop aims to help individuals optimize their LinkedIn profiles to enhance their professional online presence. Participants will learn how to create a compelling profile highlighting their skills, experience, and accomplishments. The workshop will cover key features such as crafting a persuasive headline, writing a firm summary, and showcasing work samples. Additionally, attendees will gain insights into building and expanding their network, engaging with industry professionals, and leveraging LinkedIn for job searching and career growth. By the end of the session, participants will have the tools and knowledge to maximize their LinkedIn presence and increase professional opportunities.
- Feb 6–7ChillenniumThis event is known as the world's largest student-run game jam. Students from universities across the country will create video games from the ground up over a 48-hour period. Students can also interact with industry professionals who will be on hand to serve as mentors.
- Feb 6–7Invent for the Planet - Part INote: Registration is open January 23-28. Register at tx.ag/IFTP25 During Invent for the Planet (https://engineering.tamu.edu/student-life/aggies-invent/events/invent-for-the-planet/index.html) (IFTP), we tackle some of the world's biggest challenges, such as environmental affairs, energy solutions, improving developing nations and resource equity. Each participating university organizes a local Invent for the Planet weekend which follows our Aggies Invent (https://engineering.tamu.edu/student-life/aggies-invent/index.html) format — teams are formed based on similar interests in a need statement. The teams research the topic, build a simple prototype, and on the final day, put together a video and present their solutions to a panel of judges. Three teams from each local event are selected for first, second and third place prizes, with the opportunity to go onto the second round and compete for the world title.Interested in joining? To receive a cupcake, participants must practice asking for consent. This engaging activity highlights the importance of respecting boundaries and reinforces the value of seeking and giving consent in everyday interactions. Stop by, grab a cupcake and learn how something as simple as asking can make a big difference.
